LOGISTICS TASKS

Inex works in two logistics centres in Bastukärr, Sipoo, and all shifts are accessible by public transport.

The groceries logistics centre handles grocery products such as food and hygiene products. The groceries logistics centre operates in three shifts every day of the year. Some of the facilities are temperature controlled, and both traditional logistics tasks and logistics automation operator tasks are carried out in all areas:

  • Dry products: +20 degrees Celsius
  • Fresh products: +13 to +2 degrees Celsius
  • Frozen products: -25 degrees Celsius

The consumer goods logistics centre handles consumer goods such as clothing and home accessories. The consumer goods logistics centre primarily operates on weekdays in morning and evening shifts.

LOGISTICS WORK

Automated picking covers the majority of Inex’s total volume. However, some of the work tasks and picking are done manually.

Traditional logistics work includes tasks such as picking work using voice picking and pick-to-light methods.

In addition to picking, a logistics worker’s job description may include receiving goods, repacking, and dispatch or terminal tasks.

WORK AS A LOGISTICS AUTOMATION OPERATOR

Automation takes care of the majority of product picking and palletising. The tasks of a logistics automation operator include the use of storage automation equipment and the monitoring of processes in their own area of responsibility, as well as solving possible malfunctions and fault situations.

Logistics automation operators work as part of a team, actively interact with their team and report error situations.

Logistics automation operators move a lot during their working day, so the work requires good physical fitness, as well as the ability to work in high places and cool temperatures.

The language of the automation equipment is English.
